Synchronized Swimming Volunteer Parent Jobs are divided into two categories: running the meet, and events coordinators. Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Socorro Magaziner for information.
Running a synchro meet:
JUDGE
9 judges and 1 referee are required to run a synchro meet. They judge the figure and routines that the swimmers perform. No experience necessary. Some training required. A Judge Coordinator is also available.
PROMPTER
Organizes the swimmers according to their turn to compete based on the swim meet roster.
READER
Clarifies the swimmer’s meet #, directs swimmer to perform the designated figure, prompts judges to show their score, reads the score to the recorder.
RECORDER
records scores on the score sheet
RUNNER
delivers score sheets to computer room
COMPUTER WORKER
inputs scores onto league computer, prints team winners and delivers to ribbon table. A coordinator position is also available.
RIBBON TABLE WORKER
labels ribbons according to team winners and organizes ribbons according to categories. A coordinator position is also available.
ANNOUNCER
announces the events during the competition and the winners at the end of the meet
Fundraising and Social Events:
AQUACADE COORDINATOR
working closely with the coaches, this creative parent assists with our end-of-the-year water show. Job includes program design, pool decorations, ticket sales, etc.
CARWASH COORDINATOR
organizes and runs this fun fundraiser.
COSTUME LIBRARY COORDINATOR
this parent will be in charge of disbursing and collecting suits for team routines, collecting deposit and rental fees, etc.
4TH OF JULY PARADE COORDINATOR
this parent will be in charge of organizing our participation in the 4th of July parade, organizing the float decorating party, etc.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL COORDINATOR
this parent will be in charge of organizing this fun season opener.
SNACK BAR COORDINATOR
this energetic parent organizes running the snack bar at home meets only.
SPAGHETTI FEED/SWIM-A-LAP COORDINATOR
this parent volunteer organizes this yummy fundraiser.
WEBSITE COORDINATOR
this parent volunteer keeps us informed with regular updates on the synchro website.
YEARBOOK COORDINATOR
this creative volunteer records our triumphs and tribulations into synchro history.
