What is Synchro

Synchronized Swimming is a water sport that combines swimming skills with the artistry of gymnastics and ballet. "Synchro" emphasizes precise teamwork and individual skill and strength in an atmosphere of fun and friendship, all put to music. Swimmers of all abilities, from 5-18 years old, can participate. Each swimmer will learn basic figures and swimmers will try out to be in routines which compete at championships. Swimmers can also elect to be in a routine for our Aquacade show at the end of the summer. Practice begins in late April and continues through July.

Synchronized swimming is divided into two categories: figures and routines. Figures are performed individually to demonstrate confidence and control throughout different skills. Placing in figures at championships allows novice swimmers (ages 10 & up) to advance to the intermediate level the following year.

The second part of synchronized swimming, routines, is fun but requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and commitment. Routines are choreographed movements put to music, swam individually or with teammates. All swimmers will be included in at least one routine, either in competition or in our Aquacade show. The head coach determines who will swim in routines by holding tryouts early in the season. Selection will be based on ability, commitment, and attendance.

No synchro experience is needed to join the team! Our wonderful coaches will teach you everything you need to know. Come try it out!
